Now that you have setup your first users, first roles/permissions and content model let's move to publishing our first content. Just a recap: Cockpit CMS is a Headless CMS. It does not come with a frontend; it only has a publishing backend. In the next tutorial we will cover on how to view the content you will publish on a frontend of your choice.
To begin, login as 'admin' to your Cockpit CMS instance. Click on the 'Content' link. This will load the Content Models you have created. In the previous tutorial we created the 'Blog' content model. Click on it. This will load a page of this form:
Click on the 'Create Item' button. This will open the interface where you can add your content as shown below. Note that the fields shown are the ones you created as you set up the 'Blog' content model above. Once you fill in the content in the fields click on the 'State' section and select whether your new content piece/blog post will be 'Unpublished' or 'Published'. Select 'Published' to publish the blog post immediately.
The form with the fields you selected while creating the 'Blog' content model.
The small modal that pops up on the 'State' section.
Congrats! You have just created your first content piece/blog post. You can click on 'Content' on the admin sidebar then 'Blog' to view the new post item listed. Next we will look at how you can display this blog post to the 'outside world' since it now resides only within your Cockpit CMS backend.
